Windblocker

This weekend it was sunny both days with highs in the lower 60s, perfect weather to try out a new Windblocker from Tom at Team Liebre https://www.morspeedperformance.com.

I have had another type windblocker for a few years, the kind off of ebay that straps to the head rest, and this one looks and performs much better. My only complaint is that the bracket could come up about half an inch higher as the bracket sits against the folded top when in place.

It made it a comfortable top down drive in excess of 250 miles this weekend. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

I love my Windblocker...I've modified it with velcro on the borttom & another piece of velcro on the tonneau...push the velcro together & you've got an alomst airtight seal that stays closed at speed!

Nice lookin' wheels.

Tony,
Would you please post a picture of your modification of the tonneau cover and windblocker, I would like to see how it looks with the velcro.

thanks ,
Paul

I'll have to put the top down & install it....& we've still got a few more cold weather days until the top warms up & softens

Is that the same Tom that is on MGBE that makes the blockers? We were talking about that & Chuck making one and he said not to use plexiglass. Who was that?

Windblockers are made by Tom Rynne

Nice tweeters. How'd you mount them, and hide the wiring?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif great looking car /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The kids who're designing the stereo for my V8 car want to put tweeters up on the windshield post - tell us more!

Kenny,

drilled a hole through the pillar and ran the wire behind the post seal, then down through the corner frame seal. small gauge wire can be used for the tweeters, so not hard to hide.

the bottom of the tweeter frame is a mount with a hole in the middle, a small screw into the post pillar allows it to swivel 360 degrees.

All of the wiring was run under the insolation so it cannot be seen, I use a 10 year old Pioneer Elite Headunit fed by a old school RF Punch 45 HD amp in the boot. I think the older head units have a more approiate appearience in a B than the more modern spaceage looking CD players.

The midrange is handled by two 4 inch speakers in the doors, and the bass is taken care of by two shallow 8 inch sub woofers mounted to plates beneith the seats.

Lots of trouble for something that I rarely turn on,
prefer to listen to the Peco sound system /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
