Wimbledon: Will Murray win?

Why is it that when Andy Murray wins he's British, but when he loses, he's a Scotsman?

Fred Perry was the last Brit to win Wimbledon in 1936, looong time ago. Murray has the talent, Federer is out, but a couple of big hills to climb.

If he wins, he will be immortal, a huge star. IF he gets to the final, still not too bad.

I'm for Andy. Good, hard-working kid.

The Brits deserve a win (especially after the horrid World Cup showing). :yesnod:

when Ben Johnston was the world's quickest man, he was Canadian. When he tested positive for steroids he was Jamaican.

We were in Edinburgh a couple years ago and were having our first real pub experience. The guys at the bar were literally screaming at the sports on the TV screen. "That'll teach them F'ing Krauts etc. etc." Knowing that Brits (and especially drunken brits) can get errr "passionate" about their sport, I went to see what they were watching - twas Wimbledon. We still laugh when we remember.
