Will this oil filter convertor work on my 1098?

Is ok, that tab hook up is only to tell you that the filter is cloged.

That bolt on adapter is the same one that came on my 1275.

Its A canister type head for a 948 converted to cartridge. I used a 3/4" NPT tap and a pipe close nipple. Found a cartiridge filter with a deprsion in the center threads and the gasket in the rite diamiter that is just inside the square ring groove. Works great.

It best not light up.

What is the part number of the filter you used? I think I might try this at some point.

The spin on is a joy.

It's a Fram PH30 could it be any more common? I like the fact I can get the filter anywhere. When I do an oil change next time I'll take a picture of the underside theres not much to see there is a threaded nipple in the middle other wise it is unchanged.

Ok, so the item arrived in tip top condition, but I still have a question about the oil sensor and potential filter canidates...

There is a spring loaded ball valve where there happens to be some sort of sensor in my housing on my 1098 engine. The ball would give way and let oil pass through the system if pressure went past X psi.

I'm curious if you need to use oil filters without drainback valves, otherwise, the oil might just end up passing through this ball valve??

Also, what do I do with my sender wire that hooks up there? I thought the red lamp was an oil pressure warning light, but Jack mentioned it was an 'Oil filter is plugged up and being bypassed' light???

I noticed that the Mann oil filters I use for all of my Volvos fits this piece nicely, but I didn't want to just assume it'd be a good fit since I don't know what the drainback pressure is. My Sprite runs about 60-80psi of pressure at throttle and idles at about 15-40psi depending how hot or cold the oil is.

So any extra info is appreciated.
