Will old fit new?

1) Will an old roof assembly, the bars you push in and can keep in the trunk, will they fit a 74 Midget? I've gotten rid of the 'permanent' folding roof in favor of a tonneau, but wondered about a temp folding roof for the trunk, you know, just in case.
2) Will an older grille assembly (vertical slot) fit my 74 also?

Basically stuff from a MK3 Sprite/ MK2 Midget to a late MK3 Midget....
TIA chaps. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

I think the older grille will fit, with a little work. I don't think they really changed the sheet metal that much (if at all) when the new grilles came out.

As for the removable top bows, anything is possible. You'd need to weld in the sockets for them. I think that the back deck may have been modified for the permanent top, so you would need to experiment with the actual top fabric to see which would work. If you're up to some fabrication, I'm sure it could be made to function.

The cockpit opening on the folding hood Spidgets is about 4" deeper (farther back) to accommodate the hood frame. A stowable hood and frame would need to be custom made.
