Will a 1500 dizz fit a 1275?

If not, are they similar internally? I want to use an electronic 1500 dizz or the parts in my 1275.
 
I'd guess yes, since I'm running a 1275 distributor in my 1500.
 
I haven't pulled the Delco dizzy out of our project Spitfire but you've got me curious now. So... does that mean you could use almost any 23/24/45 series 4-cylinder Lucas dizzy in the 1500 in place of the Delco?

It looks like it should work. I had two junkyard Midgets at my mercy this past weekend, a 1275 and a 1500. I took the 1500 dizz and fitted it to the 1275 and it fit fine. Looks the same. So, I plan to use it with a GM HEI module hidden in the Lucas control box.

I have a Lucas 25 with the vacuum advance unit removed and running a Pertronix in my 1500 race car. My vacuum advance plate is locked so it won't rotate. You need to modifiy or re-make the block clamp (an easy task).

Mine's running the old style side-exit cap and solid core, copper wires (apparently, Pertronix does not recommend solid core wires, but I've had this setup for over six years with no issues).

With this setup, I set my timing at 30 BTDC at 5000 RPM. I have no idea what it is at idle speed.

My project Spitfire has a Delco 200 series (vacuum retard) distributor with a leaking vacuum diaphragm. Based on your comments, once the Spit is roadworthy I may opt for a different dizzy with vacuum advance for highway driving. This also opens the possibility of fitting a Hitachi dizzy from a Nissan, which is what I'm currently running in the Mini.
