I found a place in the Carolinas that has prebent stainless steel brake lines. They only show lines for a 1976 and mine is a 1974. Would these lines work on my car?

Hi Jhorton3,
i would be interested in this place. got a name?

i would buy 76 lines for my 75. willing to bet they would fit.

Mark-I found this place through a monster list of vendors on the MG UK web site. The shop is in the Carolina's here in the states. It's called Classic Tube & Line 800-882-3711. They offer the lines in stainless steel, prebent for $200. I didn't think that was too bad, considering what a pain I've had trying to bend the copper/nickel coils I bought. If I had my original lines as a pattern I'd feel a little better in my bending job. I plan on running my car up on the twisty mountain roads of North Gerogia, Carolinas and East Tennessee. Not the place to have a brake failure!

I think the lines would probably fit for the most part. I'm sure there's some slight variations between my 1275 model and 1500 models. My biggest concern is how they connect to the brake union, since 1275 series cars used the brass brake union, and 1500 models used cast iron unions.

Jh,
I usually bend mine by hand, or with the assistance of various hand tools. sockets work well. i bought a tubing bender but the radius is way to large to be of any real use.
i am not 100% sure but i think the fittings would be the same, on either union. i am sure some one here knows ????

Thanx for the info on the stainless lines.
