Briefly, because it's 9:15 mountain time and I need to pack to leave Montana for Utah at 0'dark30 in the morning (ugly 645 mile, for the most part interstate, drive)

SUMMARY:
June 26--day 9
3300+miles
7 states
3 national parks
2 state parks
4 national historic sites/landmarks/monuments
4 hotels
4 MG spottings (2 of those today in Whitefish MT)
AND SOME OF THE BEST ROADS I'VE EVER DRIVEN, a fre that would make Tail of The Dragon look like a stretch on I-70 through Kansas!

CAR ISSUES:
1 flat in south Dakota, repaired and on the road in an hour
Binabox has been puking some oil through the bresther, back pressure most likely

IF I could figure out how to post a pic or two from this bloody iPad, I would...

There was a Brit deal in Idaho this Weekend. Some of the B's might have been from that?

Janel,

You let me know when you come through Eureka.I want my Wife to
meet you.
Please make it happen.I came to ST.Louis - you can come to Eureka.

- Doug

Aha, finally one of you easterners sees that tail of the dragon isn't the end all of driving roads! If you make it so Southern California, I'll show you some roads that are a better workout than going to the gym.

Just talked to Janel, and we should be meeting up Tuesday night. They made it to SLC safe and sound.

hope Janel understands that in slc the speed limit signs are really the minimum speed you need to be going to not get run over.

It should also be noted that I15 in utah is the only place I've ever had a Winnebago not only catch up to me but pass me while I watched from above in the plane I was flying.

Add 2 more states, 1 more hotel and amend that mileage to 4000+!

I realized early on, that speed limits in SD, WY, MT, ID and UT are merely a suggestion. We ran umder 75mph, seems to help with the puking. And seems we could use a valve cover gasket, got one Drew?

We'rewashing the car and heading to the Salt Flats early. Then the copper mine. After that, we're all yours Drew. Give us a call say 11ish and we'll set a time and sort details.

@Steve, The Tail is a trai ing road for some we were on.

@Stewart, sadly we ran 93 to 90 to 15 down nere and still spent 11 hours on the road.

Will call tomorrow and confirm details.

No valve cover gasket in my spares, but we may be able to find you one on Tuesday. You could try Bailey's Automotive (801-743-2875) -- they work on LBCs and might have one in stock.

I'm planning a trip out your way, probably 2013 though - we're on the 'every other year plan' ... 2007, 2009, 2011... Butni think we may fly into Vancouver and *gasp* rent a car and drive down the coast, hit Yosemite, Napa Valley, San Fran, Death Valley & Joshua Tree, fly back home from Southern California. So you will have to show me those roads with me in a yucky car, not an MG. Plan on seeing Doug while we're out ther as well.

I'd keep me away from your wife!

Unfortunately missed them on Tuesday night -- had a last minute call for a gig that I didn't know I already had booked, and had to set some land speed records to make it on time. Theoretically speaking a Honda Fit will do 80 mph up a steep freeway grade in 4th gear, just so you know, and my old BMW motorcycle will pull 70 mph up Parley's Canyon... Who knew?

Disappointed that we didn't get to meet up, but at least they got to do the drive I was going to take them on (Big Cottonwood Canyon).

If you ever do make it back here, I'll make *sure* that my calendar really is clear!
