I agree. To each his or her own. I was just blown away by the fact that 6 months ago, she was a nobody, had little if any formal training and just went to the tryouts on a whim. Plus, I love the fact she took a popular song and made it her own. I'm like Basil, it sent shivers up my spine.

Wild Horses is my all time favorite song. The first one I list when someone asks (Angie is next) That said...I'm impressed. I never would have believed that she could pull off that song and it still be as beautiful! (Of course...well written songs are often like that aren't they?)

So true. A well written song will easily travel from one genre to another and still sound great. Look at how much Beatles stuff is played by philharmonics etc.
Listen to how well this piece by John Denver traveled into the classical realm...Although in this case, I think I like the Denver rendition better, but this one is good.

Edit: What does that "embedding disabled by request" mean?? The video links to youtube, but it isn't direct like it usually is.

When you upload a video to Youtube, there is an option you can select to disable embedding. If you check it, then videos that are placed on other sites won't play from that site, rather clicking them will take you to the You Tube site. Nt sure what some people disable embedding, but I guess they have their reasons.

One of my all time favorite songs.
I agree that a great song can easily cross genres and that this version was done well. But I have to say the the language translation doesn't work as well as many songs I've heard (like the Beatles in German).
"Peeeeeer teeeeee" doesn't have the same ring as "fooor youuuuuu."
