Wild Fire Near Basil's house

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thankyousign.gif For all your concerns for Basil. Basil and I are about 10 miles apart and I shouldn't think we will be directly affected by the fire. It is pretty much in Mountainair, NM encompassing Torrence County. There is a strong chance for snow tomorrow and this will be mostly in the high elevations, above 6,000 feet and that would be the elevation for the Ojo Fire. But as Californians know no fire can be charted with certitude. I will be holding positive and upbeat thoughts as I am sure Basil is. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

KEEP us UP on the developments as well!!

...I don't think I'll sleep well thru the night. Pro'lly be checkin' THIS thread periodically.

South and east of Basil's lair. No prevailing wind info, no real time data...

RATS!

Has the fire heated up the server, Basil? Site's down about 50% of the time since around 1pm my time.
If that's true, that's one HUGE fire. I believe the server is on the East coast.

Nope, its actually in Dallas LOL!

Doc,

Here's a local news report on fire location scroll out to Edgewood to get a picture on the situation.

I am somewhat south of where Edgewood is marked on that Map (I'm actually almost in Torrance County). But it seems to be far enough away that I doubt it will be an issue for us. However, thay have evacuated some of the surrounding communities, like Mountainaire.

I'm still a good distance from the fire, but I am about 10 feet from the Torrance county line. I doubt it will be an issue, but then one never knows.

We're watching. "Alert Status"... if the term still applies.

Thanks fer stickin' yer head up. We're concerned.

Basil,

Please keep us posted.

I will. I'm not worried at present it is far enough away as to not be an immediate concern.

Its a little before 10am Thanksgiving day here in the high desert of New Mexico and were getting our first snowfall of the year. We're about 150 miles from Edgewood..and if we ever had a fire we'd loose tumbleweeds and prarie grass. According to the weather reports, alot of the state will get snow and rain so hopefully the folks in the path of the fire will be okay. Be safe guys.

What ever happened to the fire? I assume it never got close?

California's burning again!

Not close and it snowed last night, which I suspect will go a long way towards stopping it!
