Wife's "new" toy

Re: Choice local roads

You had said you were in South Carolina and wanted a B for the wife, I figured there weren't too many guys in SC shopping for Bs for their wives...I do understand local is easier, cheaper, less nerve wracking, etc.

the "infamos" basket

Well, the wife was able to get her picnic basket into a car show. The MGB was attached thereto.

Re: Thanks Hap

Hi Gundy,

I thought I may find you here.

Your a better person than I am by getting your Wife that sweet looking OEW "B". I`m sure she is thrilled.

Looks like your going to have to build a bigger "Stable" for all your Toy cars soon!

I really like the luggage rack. I`ve had one on virtually every car I have ever owned with the exception of the "E-Types". I have one coming in for my B/E (Orig style) & Its actually going to be functional. I`m sure I could get a 6 pack or 3 on there!!

See Y`All Later,

Russ

I saw your wife's B at the car show. Very nice car. Wish I had known it was you I would have spoken. Our club was running the car show.

BTW Pumpkintown is one of my favorite places.

Did you have the white BE? If so we spoke. I had the blue
hot rod BE.
I'm joining your club a.s.a.p.
You guys are sure a lot of fun. We had a great time.
Next time you are near Pumpkintown give a a shout and we'll get together.
Maybe even pull a cork at my cabin...if you are so inclined.

For now the BE and the MGB fit nicely in the Buggy Barn.
Only the old Land Cruisers have to stay outdoors. :jester:

Re: Thanks Hap

Hey David nice pic, you left that awesome white GT out of the photo :smile:
The show turned out well, not bad for something we thought up a year ago (me and the Games folks), and finally got into the works, thanks to the SBMOC, they did a great job, it went from a idea to reality in about 70 days, The final car count was 75 cars, which was great for the first year, we'll all working hard to make it even better show in the future. I've already got some ideas for some extra activities on Friday, plus I leaning towards this being where I have my 50th Midget throw down in 2011, instead of Euro.

Hey Bill, this is Hap.

David, see ya tommorow at the FBCC meeting.

Oops! My bad. It did win a participation award.
We had a great time. Beautiful venue.

Re: Thanks Hap

Yeah, I got one of those "showed up" throphies as well, I always enjoy going to shows, but I could care less if I win anything, I already got a wall full of racing throphies, even boxes at home with them packed away. I see taking the whole show thing too serious as being addictive anyway, many seem to get obcessed with being stock, or being so perfect they don't won't to get out and drive their cars, while shows are fun, driving in the mountians with the tail hung out in the corners is even more fun to me. Pretty much the only shows I attend are the ones in our immediate area.

In fact that is one of the things I liked to do at Great Scot event, put on a mountain driving tour event for the SBMOC and the entrants on Friday.

Now ya talkin' partner! That sounds like fun to me.
Plenty of options hereabouts too.

That was not me. I didn't realize you had the blue BE too. Nice car. I didn't drive my car (64 Spit) because it has been making squeeking-squalling noise from the rear. I need to pull the rear hub off (oh joy) and make sure it isn't a bearing.

My company has done some work at the Milliken plants that are between Pumkintown and Marietta. I love the drive through that valley. I would love to retire to that area.

Re: Thanks Hap

I will be up near hwy 11 and hwy 9 tomorrow morning around 8:30 am. Car trailer in tow empty then loaded with a white BGT! Honk if you see me! Bob

Re: Thanks Hap

Thanks for the compliment.
My BE is less show than go. I figure to get the darn thing
painted after this summer's fun. I didn't expect to win anything with either car being they are just nice driver cars
but was surprised to hear my name called after the 3 winners in my..ahem...expanded class of Spitfires, Midgets and Sprites
and got a "showed up" kinda 4th place thingie.
LOL...hey it's a plaque for the Buggy Barn nonetheless.
Offer stands....give me a heads up when you come near my neck
of the woods and we'll chew some fat at my place.
Beverages on me.

That's up near Inman isn't it? I go that way to visit my brother. I LOVE that drive through the peach orchards.
Sweetest peaches in the world, with apologies to Ga. farmers.
