Wife stuck in town due to fire

Wife is in town baby sitting the granddaughter and it looks like she's going to be staying in town tonight. Apparently a big brush fire has broken out on I40/ Rt66, in the canyon just east of Albuquerque - on both sides of the highway. Carnuel, which is right at the mouth of the canyon, is under mandatory evacuation orders. They have shut down traffic in both directions, which means there is no easy route for her to get home. She could go north to Santa Fe, then come down through Stanley, or south on I25 towards Socorro, then east to mountanaire and up to out town. Either of those routes would take her at least 2 hours. Looks like I'm a bachelor tonight.

So sorry to learn there are even more wildfires in New Mexico. Best to stay safe. Wildfires can move very quickly and overtake with devastating effects.

Very sobering to see the aftermath of these fires.
Some people lost everything.
