Good day to all here; my question is for my 1300 spitfire motor that i want only for the street; it's a non-recessed type that had the head rebuilt to stage1 spec. by PRI it's at 10.5 compression; i'm going to rebuild the short block with a 20 over bore and i have PRI quad carbs . Can anyone reccomend a good street cam that they are useing in a street motor now. thanks Rick.

Check with David Anton at APT, he will have a few street grinds to offer, the good thing about David's cams are they are either new billets or ion nitrited regrinds, alot of companies do not reharden their reground cams, this is bad pratice I believe. Then lifter quailty is another issue, if you have a billet or properly hardened regrind you need a lifters that are Rockwell C rated 57 or higher, David now offers the Triumph .800' lifters, his lifter are Rockwell C 60 rated. the .800" lifter fits all the Triumph pushrod motors except the early 1147s, Hope this helps.

Howdy Rick,

I used to live in "Clifton, NJ" (Approx 100yrs ago). Then moved to the "Poconos" (About 15yrs ago). Now residing in "NW SC" (About Time)!

I went from "OK" in Clifton to "Better" in PA & now "Best" in SC relative to living stds.

Hope you get down here one day with your Spit & cruise some of the back country roads here. You`1l have a blast!!

Regards, Russ

Street Car??

I would be cautious about buying carb from him, I purchased a triple set of Mikunis for my TR6 and they never worked and He said he has life time support and when I called to get help it took him days to call me back and then he said he was getting new jets that would solve my problem from Japan, never happened and the excuses went on and on and when I asked for my money back he never returned my calls and after I bought them then he said no returns, and now they are dust collectors on a shelf, NOT HAPPY with PRI

Buyer beware

We used to hike at Caesar's Head alot. 25 is a nice road and you can stop and get fresh hot boiled peanuts on the side of the road (a bonus for me). Now in Maine but I still miss SC.

I only bought from him one time, I got a set of his bar stock lifters, before APT introduced thier new Triumph lifters. I found this odd, I called told him what I wanted to buy, he told me to go back to website and order online, call me old fashion, but if I got a bird (buyer) in my hands, I'm not going to let him go and tell him to order online. His motorcylcle carbs set up, looks like nightmare to me. He talks alot about racing, but I never heard of him in the road racing world, it's a smaller community nationwide than one would think.
