What a load of hassle...

Just (and I do mean JUST) got the cable modem up. This means that we can watch the idiot box tonight at least.

I'm never moving out of this house. I can't face doing that again!

Well, Alan-

How about a 5 month wait to get a phone connection
and the only internet available is dial-up? Cable
TV?? 18 months to have it installed.

Talk about a total disconnect!

hmmm - reminds me of my childhood.
23 hours dahn t'pit, with a 10 mile walk each way...

My wife and I said much the same thing when we bought our house in 2005. The next move I want to make is into the old-folks home in 50 years. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I feel for you. It will all feel worth it eventually, once the initial pain passes.

You have a kitchen?
Reading your post - I thought about Python
right away!

My husband and I have already decided that our next move we sell everything in the house in a giant "Estate Sale" and just have new stuff delivered when we move. If it won't fit in the trunk of my midget, I ain't taking it.

I would dread having to do this. I've got too many cars & too much stuff. I've been thinning out my crap though.

I know that there are some fellow Brits here so they know that it is bad enough moving house, but when you add in a change of country as well that can make things "really interesting". We are now on our 3rd country and hopefully that's it.

Only my second country, but I still did the Transatlantic thing.........We left almost everything, except for my collection of exotic magazines (okay, my collection of car magazines going back to who-knows-when), my books (also a sore subject with my wife) and clothes. We sourced everything over here, and so when we moved in to the house things appeared in easy stages thereafter.

We hit a LOT of garage sales in those first few weeks!

sheesh! I need to learn to slow down a little more (not that I read fast to begin with) while I'm reading. I thought you said you "hit a LOT of GARBAGE sales in those first few weeks!"

God forbid! If I ever have to move I`ll need a fleet of semi`s just to haul my garage. Ok, ......... So ....... I`m a packrat. BUT ...... my wife is QUEEN packrat. She has more "Stuff" than a big dog has bones buried in the backyard! She would need the Queen Mary to haul her "Stuff" away. NOPE I AIN`T NEVER movin`.
Kitchen? what more does one need than a BBQ and an Igloo cooler. Works great ......... when we use the Motorhome /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif
{Wife has every appliance known to man in the homeplace Kitchen}.
