Why people switch from SCCA to Vintage racing

The sheer number of times that clip has been used to parody something... I've never even seen the original.

Always funny, even if I have no idea what the 2.5 rule is.

2.5 cars per class per National race = minimum participation requirement. 2 years below minimum after dropping to 2.5 or lower meant relegation to Regional racing only.

CRB and BOD suspended 2.5 application to classes numerous times due to $'s from specific manufacturers finding their way into pet SCCA projects or pockets. When $'s and rules configuration to match couldn't predict National championships or enough National wins, 2.5 gets pushed aside.

Just imagine the look on the Mazda VP's face as he turns to the SCCA VP of Club racing when the TR6 won at Road America a couple years back. All those $'s put into SCCA for Miata's to have the best chance at winning and some darn British Leyland brick wins when they haven't made the darn thing for 30+ years. Priceless!

That's one of the best Youtube clips ever put together. Can be used for just about anything, any cause or idea with a little creative writing.

To quote Sam "I brought a gun to a knife fight" in reference to using rain tires.

The fields look even to me.

Much of the latest bad blood is from them getting rid of GP because it didn't meet the 2.5 rule but not other classes.

If one is looking for a mostly fair and level playing field, SCCA is it.

The grass is always greener on the other side. At the end of the day, it's all club racing with like minded individuals.
