Why I love my midget......

regularman said:
The mdget in the evening with the top down is the absolute. The warm wind blowing and the purr of the engine and all is right with the world. The only thing I have found similar is sailing, its one of those zen things.

I used to Sail in high school ( I had a Thistle) I had forgotten full moons on summer nights with no sound but the wind and the waves and the lufting of the sails. My midget brings the same peace on a cool evening as we cruise past Pinnnacle Mountain under a full moon. Thanks for a great memory! T:smile:

I have not sailed in 2 years now, since my inlaws sold their place on the lake. I hope to sail mine on a small nearby lake this weekend if I am up to it. It is very relaxing, but then so is a drive of the midget on the nearby blue ridge parkway. I need to finish that car, sigh! I remember when I had it on the road one summer in august it was nearly 90 and scorching hot and I had been hot all day and we don't have AC in the house cause it usually cools off to the 60s at night, anyway I was just sick of the heat. So I jumped in the midget and took a drive up to mount mitchell where it was in the 40s and got my teeth to chattering, then it felt good to be warm again.

Sold my large sailboat several years back. Got a Sprite. Same kick, much cheeper.

I got the car out on this weekend, changed out the engine and transmission, and just generally got it ready for the season. I go into work yesterday to find that they are selling the company, and too a foreign company owned by a foreign government no less. I didn't work this hard to get this place from a hazardous workplace (worker burned to death in '99) to a safe and reliable operation so they add to the fleecing of America. Took a the Midget for a ride with Erica in her Miata and felt a whole lot better. I know it doesn't change anything but it still feels better. Sorry for the rant.

Sorry to hear that, Chris. I hope the changeover goes better than one might expect.

It's called money, make sure you get yours.
