I just received my BMIHT trust certificate and the number stamped on my chassis (2762) does not match the record (3625/2475). Are the records messed up or did someone swap the chassis?

The heritage is known to make errors in their documentation---Keoke

Rich - where is this chassis # 2762 located? - The number that you should match on your hood, trunk lid, cockpit surround and door mouldings should be #2475.
Good luck - jim :driving:

The number 2762 is stamped on the front shock mounts. Where are the panel numbers stamped. I didn't see them.
thanks,
rich

Prop rod tabs for the trunk lid and LH hinge brkt for the hood, and also on the hood latch base assembly.

I guess the 100s & Longbridge 100/6s also have the numbers stamped on the back of (each piece of) interior trim molding. I've never seen these myself, so I can't say where to look, or provide pictures.

I'm primarily familiar with BJ8s, but I believe the number you've found on the shock tower is some kind of internal tracking number applied by Jensen Motors during manufacture of the chassis. This number is not, to my knowledge, relatable to any other number on the car, such a VIN or body number. The number on the BMIHT certificate is the body number, which should be stamped on a plain aluminum plate attached to the firewall.
If the number on the body plate does not match the number on the BMIHT certificate, then someone has attached a body plate from another car.

Rich - that is interesting if that #2762 is located on both shock mounts, I have only ever seen it on the right front. For my Longbridge the body # is stamped on the back of (each piece of) interior trim molding. I will send you the photos. Jim :driving:

Jim,
That number is only on the right shock mount. The left shock mount has BB stamped on it.
The plate was removed from the firewall prior to stripping (30 years ago).
Where is Randy's picture? I need him to zoom out.....
I'll look further this weekend on the trim moldings and trunk and hood latched/hinges..
thanks all.
