Got 2 e mails today from our internet provider asking me to verify my e mail address?

It seems strange that the request came from 2 different addresses and both were gmail addresses. Both went into junk unopened.

Also got a call from AT&T letting me know I had quailfied for a %50 price reduction on my AT&T Internet service. We do not use AT&T so they must have called the wrong number.

So many important messages on the answering machine about credit card purchases etc. Pity the person calling does not wait for the answering machine to finish the greeting before they give me the important message. Click delete.

Guarantee it's a scam email. Don't reply and for God's sake don't click on ANY links in the email. I get more of those than I can count.

Auto warranty calls aplenty, the newest car here is a 2002 with a second engine after 250K+ miles on the first. Can't understand who falls for all the scams we're inundated with. Our answering machine averages four or five "hang-up" messages from obscure "unknown" numbers per day, another bunch of calls I see from odd area codes and hang up on with a two-hit on the answer button.

As long as email and 'net phone calls are "free", they'll multiply into infinity.

Charge one penny per email, and one penny per phone call, and the problems will likely disappear.

I get a regular robot call supposedly from my energy company saying the accidentally overcharged and want to give me a 30% refund and all I need to do is provide an account to send it to. It doesn't identify me by name or them, and my phone is a corporate one not in my name. Delete....

Since I'm the membership guy for our Club on our website, I get a huge number of spam emails. Many are trying to spoof the Club President asking me to purchase gift cards. I'm actually surprised the Club President can actually get through.

Recently been getting a lot of emails with a strange character over the letters in the subject line. A bit like an accent. My junk bin is getting full of these. I have to empty the trash every few days.

On my iMac mail I have a rule set up that pouts any email "from" address that is not in my contacts list in a special folder I created called "Maybe Junk". I check it regularly and if there are any emails I want to keep I will add that address to my contacts (one click operation) so the next time I get an email from that address it will go into my inbox. So, in other words, only emails that are in my contact list will go into my inbox.
