Why do I live here?

Wondered why I was having such a difficult time getting my garage to heat up this evening. Just trying to make some progress on the TR6. Actual temperature outside right now is negative 28 degrees (-28º) with the wind chill at minus 43 (-43º). Maybe I should have insulated my garage when the house was built. Tomorrow we will be experiencing a heat wave. Supposed to get all the way up to plus 16 degrees. Hope all of you are keeping somewhat warm.

-32* here in central MN right now with wind of 20-30 mph. A bit on the chilly side. Might have to put a jacket on when I go outside tomorrow.

Hi There dan,

Last wk. I was in W. Des Moines on a Bus. trip. 1st. time in Iowa. We have a plant in "Boone" as well.

I got off the plane around 10:30pm & with the windchill factor; My eyes were tearing. My earlobes were frozen etc etc.

One thing is for sure; "I`ll never move there"!! Nothing Personal of course!!

Think Spring (In Iowa that comes when; July)?

Regards,

Russ

83*F here on the island

I know I'm not supposed to post here anymore
but I couldn't let this one go. I hope the
Triumph gurus and senior TR Experts don't get even
more ticked off at me and complain to Basil or send
me more nasty emails.

Going to 83*F here on the island today. Maybe
Miss Puerto Rico will show up at the marina today.

I PROMISE, I'll post nothing technical here again.
This thread belongs in the PUB and I can post in the PUB.

Hurray, Dales back!!
I keep asking myself why I live in Scotland. The temperature is nowhere near as cold as you are suffering, but hovering around freezing. It is also damp and was for much of the year. Salty roads for five months and then a rubbish summer. After our holiday to Portugal this year, I am really questioning why I don't move there (other than I don't speak the language, wouldn't have a job, the kids schooling, my wife's scepticism). But then I would be able to run the TR all year round!
Let's all start posting pictures of pretty ladies to encourage Dale to come back!

A one time post only Nick.
It will probably be deleted later this morning.

I still in the Pub forum.

Hey Dale!

The picture below of my Miata was not taken this Winter.
But this car is in a similar pile of snow right now (it's too cold to go out and take a current picture). My poor Miata has never been in a garage in the eight years I've owned it.

Still, I like the seasons. By the end of August I get very listless and can't seem to do anything. And my brain is so fried from the Summer heat, I can't *think*.

Also, we have a house on a lake and there's ice fishing right now.
(<span style="font-style: italic">If you have to ask, you probably wouldn't understand</span>. )

:iagree:

But then I tell myself about the hurricanes,
and the toranadoes,
and the torrential downpours with flooding,
and the mosquitoes that draw blood and give you malaria in return,
and the ticks that do likewise but carry Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever,
and the spiders, and roaches, and Fire Ants and Killer Bees...
and the snakes,
and the high price of single malts...
etc.

'course, Portugal may be a lot nicer than that part of the USA I so fondly remember... :jester:

I feel your pain. Van is on the charger with a heat lamp so I can get a birthday present for my wife before she gets home from work. If it won't pop she gets snowthing.
Remember this? Why you live here, I think.

James?

What horrible place are you referring to?

We've hurricanes but far, far less than Florida or
the Gulf coast. Yes we get torrential rains.

But those OTHER bad things you mention are NOT found
here in Puerto Rico. You must be thinking of Misissippi.

later gator,

Dan - while I may be cold right now (OK, really freaking cold) I'd volunteer family and good people as the answer to your original question...

-22*F this morning.
Warming trend on the way! Supposed to be +5 this afternoon and they say 30 by Sunday! Banana belt weather!
Hope the car starts...

As soon as I saw the subject line I knew that Dale would just HAVE to post today's PR temperature, regardless of his statement never to post in the Triumph Forum again.

He just can't resist!
