TR2/3/3A Who's Lookin 4 a TR2

Good grief. Would I ever love to (be able to afford to) buy that. Looks like it just came from the factory (or a very pricey restoration).

Wow.

Here's a word I never use. STUNNING. That is one fine TR2. I love everything about it. Steel wheels and skirts... wow.

Wow, I wish I had the money right now. That is a beauty.

Although the ad says Lobster Red and the BHIMT says simply red, it sure looks like Geranium to me. A well done example of a late TR2.

Beeeeeuuuutiful car, love the color scheme, love the wheel spats, love the original tool roll, interesting to see what it will go for.

My guess is that the reserve is in the 35 to 40 range, but based on it being a very recent restoration it may be even higher if the person is trying to recoup some of the costs.

Hope you're right...or I better part my new project out before I dig the hole too deep!

So a non standard overdirve tranny and added spats does not detract originality? I would think a TR2 that was "modified" would take a hit on price....not increase it. Yes? No? Just curious....
In this case, probably not. Both were factory "catalogued" options, meaning they were listed in the Spare Parts Catalogue as "Accessories" that could be added after the car was built. If the "overdrive" transmission were from a Toyota and the spats from a J.C. Whitney clearance sale, it would be a different story!

This car is not far from me. I've been to that shop on several occasions. They sell top shelf stuff there. This car won't go cheap.

Cool...over30k....my project is ON!

I also know this shop. Their cars are OK. Some execellent. Some not so much. I looked at a 1963 TR3B that was supposedly pristine and was priced as such. Upon arrival and inspection it was clearly less than advertised.

The asking price for the TR2 is $49,500 so I suspect the reserve is the same.

Well, I would be truly amazed if any TR over TR1 could bring that amount. But I am happy at the bid being is as high as it is, since it makes a restoration financially feasible on my basket case. The asking price is for dreamers. The bid is real life!

I keep looking, but I don't see an asking price. Where is that?

Thanks.
Tom
