This afternoon, fired up Amos and took the Mrs to La Castilla
for a copa de vino tinto, cafe con leche y pastelillo de pollo.
Sunny with high of 81*F today.

So who else has been able to drive their old cars recently
and what didya do?

tinster :driving:

I drove the Alfa down to Sarasota and back (50 miles each way) today. Does that count?

:wall:
I still got a foot of snow in the yard.
Geez you guys are making me "ANGRY"

Enjoy, you sunshine gluttons

Dave :driving:

I take it out when I can. Drove it back & forth to work 3 days last week. This week not yet but I might tomorrow and Friday. Weather does not frighten me a bit. It's been rainy and cold but why not.

I've been driving my '85 Jaguar every day lately....heck, jerri's even driven it a couple of times.

3' of the ugly white stuff still on the front lawn, though the streets and driveway are clear and the snow is melting. Need a few days of rain to wash away the sand and salt, though.

Oh, and I suppose I also need to finish the Bugeye. Driving the Hyundai to work and back probably doesn't count, does it.

Last Friday was a snow a snow day and the last day Idgy stayed home...its been 70's, sunny and top down weather all week. (Ieven snuck out during my prep yesterday to drive throught the neighborhood around my school and look at the Tulip trees in bloom! :driving:)

I was driving my 75 mg all last week. I was going to pull out my 73 from storage today but someone put a cures on me and I've been nasty sick since late sunday and I think I've slept a total of 8 hours since then as I cant breath. No shape to drive anything let alone open car or a my truck with a trialer.

I drive my old cars every day because I don't have any new cars. Today I took an MG guy from Texas on a 150 mile cruise through the Santa Monica Mountains and surrounding areas.

I know it probably don't count but yesterday I drove about 600 miles in my 2001 F-150 & I’m sitting in my hotel room right now and will probably be doing it all over again today. Working in a pretty remote part of Arizona and then I have the drive back to San Diego to look forward to.

However because the MGB is being retrofitted "again" and is half torn down at the moment I’ve been putting a lot of miles on my old Porsche during all my trips out to east county for my house hunting excursions.

In fact when I get back I’ve got another appointment to look at a house & plan on taking the P-car again. My only fear is that they’re calling for rain this weekend but I think the old Shark would be up for it but the back end get kind of squirrelly with little warning.

I got mine out long enough to go from the neighbor's garage into our garage, but there was still 3" of snow in the neighbor's driveway. It needed a little emergency rodent eradication, since one of the buggers apparently made off with the trap I put out (still can't find the trap or the body :e), and once the trap was out of the way somebody moved in and nested next to the battery tray. Neighbor's driveway didn't have a very steep entrance, but the little car just couldn't make it back in through the snow, even with a running start! So back into our driveway long enough to snowblow the other driveway, and now it's back in his garage, along with additional traps :smirk: . I have to salute the previous owner of the car since he made it through a whole winter using it as his daily driver.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that taking Amos out for a drive is actually an excuse to go somewhere to eat. Food is often mentioned in conjunction with the drive. I think you have found my idea of Nirvana! Great car, Great food, only one or two other details missing here (and I DON"T want to hear about them

Drove my newly acquired Healey BN1 to the DMV yesterday for inspection and license. That thing is a hoot.

Tomorrow will drive the Healey BT7 on the annual garage tour. Will visit 5 Brit car garages, all day thing.

Tues morning will drive the BN1 to the weekly Brit Car Cafe where a dozen or so Brit Car drivers set around for a couple of hours, drink coffee, and tell lies

Took the "B" out the other day for a spin around the block and loosen it's joints. It was such a nice day, I went a little farther. The 10 min. ride turned out to be 2 hrs. Forgot the wife was making dinner. Oh well, these little cars do get us in trouble some times. But it was fun!

:driving: Agatha and I just got back from a drive into town (Albuquerque) today. A little windy but all in all in a great drive. Started out at temp of about 40 and return at a temp of about 50. Took her to see her mechanic, Dave, to determine why I didn't have a right signal. Turns out the relay was shorted out because the cold air box was pressed against it. It happened because when the filter to the cold air box was put back, it (the relay) got bumped. Not too easy a fix in that putting the filter (hose) back on took some time and patience.

Agatha and I can now make right turns. She ran well coming and going. I looked at the speedometer when driving on I-40 as I found myself passing many cars and lo and behold a little over 80. Quickly slowed down and none too soon as there was the low profiled lights on the roof of a vehicle about 3 o4 4 cars lengths in front. The county's finest - local sheriffs just cruising the interstate. They drive for the most part white SUV's. A lot to be said about the Creator taking care of fools!

Lastly as an f/y/i all their new vehicles are now black with a white front left and right door (seems that's the only way the monogram could be seen) and bright yellow stripes. I am not sure whose idea this was as there are very few black cars in New Mexico, except for the state cops and now our local deputy sheriffs. I'll be speeding ticket revenue goes down. (tee, hee)
