I grew up in the Seattle area (until off to college), and have lived in Portland for 30+ years... but I'm truly SICK of this weather! Last March was really really soggy, and it's happened again.
Now I'm on spring break (from teaching), hoping to engage in some outdoor projects, and I can't do much of anything right now. Bored... and my wife is working.

Can't wait until eastern France in late June.

My wife has been in Portland all week with rain everyday. She leaves tonight... I just informed her that it will be raining here on the east coast when she gets in.

And we've had extraordinary winds. Really lousy stuff, with the rain that is much heavier than usual for this time of year. :nonod:

Me too, been in Portland for the past ten days. It was sunny at first but now the weather is depressing, especially with 75-degree weather and blue skies at home.

...and people ask me why I just bought a house in San Diego.......
(and am moving there next month!!!)

I like NM Weather most of the time. Winters are short, but can get harsh on occasion. In the summer we have a monsoon season where it will dump a week's worth of rain in about 10 minutes! The city streets have no real drainage so driving during a monsoon can be "interesting." It can get hot in the summer, but nothing like, say, Phoenix Arizona. Where I live the elevation is higher than Albuquerque so even in summer we are 3-5 degrees cooler than whatever the temp in Albuquerque is.

For the first time in a LONG time, we've considered buying a place in some sunny southern somewhere... to head to in the "off" season (in retirement). Don't know what we can afford. I've spoken with some people that bought a place in Panama... where they have a nice expat community with health care in American facilities. Might be tempting.

I tell you.
Some of us NW'erners Have really had it.
Mark been trying to leave for 3 years now

I hear ya. You'd think we'd be fully accustomed to all this... but I hear a similar complaint from a lot of people. Given I'm NEAR retirement (or semi-retirement, at least that's my plan), someplace warm would be very nice right now.
