I don't have a clue either. All the forum were closed but one could still access the knowledge base, photos, virtual rally, etc. so the whole site wasn't down. Perhaps Basil was doing some maintenance since the forums don't show the administrator sticky messages at the top anymore. Just glad to see the forum up and running again.

If one wants to get technical they are more often called Crackers. They can be very irritating and destructive but not stupid. Getting into places that are "impossible" to get into does not cater towards a stupid person.

I do agree though that they should be severely punished. though.

Bruce, my *stoopid hacker* reference was just my suggestion that this particular repeat episode of Forum disruption was not of a lucrative financial entity nor of a strategic military or political institution. Obviously a person capable of utilizing the technical expertise required to hack this website is not stupid. However, I feel tbis type of conduct indeed is *stoopid* and every effort should be made to identify who is doing this, and stop future attacks.

Food for thought... Some viruses lie dormant on the " spreading " computer and start to work on web sites that you visit. It may not have been a targeted attack against BCF...
I hope everyone has an anti-virus program with an up to date subscription on their computer or you don't stand a chance of not getting infected and then spreading the infection to every web site that you visit ! Spybot and Adaware are free and will remove most tracking " viruses ". I think you can download zone labs firewall for free. If you do all of these things, you can keep relatively clear of these nasty things and avoid infecting other computers on the web without you even knowing that anything is going on.

I use NOD32 antivirus, automatic updates, Zone Alarm Pro, and regular scans with SpyBot and Ad-Aware SE Personal.
