YUP - little different look, and it'll change a little as things get settled in. Look in the "forum happenings" for ongoing details. There will also be different user selectable "styles" available as it grows.

Most of the smileys in the other forum were added in (not standard). The smileys in this version are the same standards as before but with different graphics. I'm sure the custom ones will be added back in time.
There's a post in the "announcements" section about the signatures. The old img tags need to be changed, and to get the signatures working properly you have to edit your "profile" (located under "My Home").
Change the IMG tags to IMAGE as shown below:

Quick answer: yes. A reply anywhere in the thread will reply to the entire thread, but will show up differently if you "expand" the threads or display the messages in "threaded" mode. Flat mode is like the old software - the messages show up one after another. Threaded mode shows the message you're viewing and a message tree. I expect each person using the forum will end up with their favorite way of displaying messages.
Threaded mode looks no different than the Phorum software you use elsewhere so I would expect it won't be an issue here.
The old software wasn't "broke" but we were outgrowing the old software. The new system is much faster with a lot more capability - a lot of which hasn't really been added yet. Basil's been working around the clock to get it online but there are sure to be some teething problems, for his comments and more info see the announcements area.

Well, I don't have it fixed & don't have trime to keep signing on every night...so, unless it can remember me, I can't spend time with it! &, I like this BBS - but, on the road, the changes are too much to keep up with!

On the login screen, there is a checkbox. If you check that, and if you have your cookies set, it will remember you each time.
