Hi all, I'm wondering how you guys took out your Emission Control System. On my GT, it's been taken out... But it seems to of been done really poorly... To block one of the hoses, a piece of wood was shoved in it

Any sites out there?
Pics maybe?

Sometimes nature provides us with the finest tools. Would anything else have been a functional improvment over the piece of wood?

Hey Darcy,

Yes I think most of us that don’t have to worry about taking their cars in for emissions testing have more than likely already removed or deactivated theirs by now.

I live in the Peoples Republic of California and due to the strict emissions laws, I will have to wait until my 78B is 30 years old before I don’t have to worry about emissions testing.

Anyway several in our forum (like Tony) swear by their ZS single carb setups. But if you really don’t want to swap out your old carburetor for say a Weber setup. I’d look at the pre-75 setups and go from there.

Removing the Cat would be my first order of business would bring you to basically a 74 ZS setup. Besides Tony’s web site, I’d start looking at either the NAMGBR or MGB Experience web sites.
