TR2/3/3A Who owns the "Lucas " brand name?

Is it still the original owner from Britain or is it owned by a foreign enterprise. Should actual Lucas brand parts ie.points have the Lucas logo engraved on the base? If not are they actually Lucas brand or are they an aftermarket look alike brand? I received a set of points in a Lucas box but they were inferior in a number of ways?

The roadster factory had a clearance sale and I bought 2 sets of points for the future. Just took a look at them. No lucas logo just have made in England stamped on them. I should have taken my time and checked to make sure what I was getting. They may work But I will probably source the real thing. Frank

TRW had owned it, then sold to Elta Lighting Ltd. Elta is now trading under “Lucas Electrical”. So says Wikipedia. So I guess Lucas Electrical owns the rights to the Lucas name!

Good or bad...nothing you find today will be the same "LUCAS" as in days of yore.
Nowadays you'll find "LUCAS" on all kinds of car parts. I recently bought "LUCAS" tie rod ends.

Wow, I never thought I’d see the day we look for Lucas over aftermarket. Repro’s have really gone down.

Prior to my engine swap, I regularly used aftermarket points and condensers and they worked adequately. That said I always had a spare set in the tool kit. I'm sad that the aftermarket has gotten worse than Lucas.

There was a time (up to the mid to late 50s) when Lucas made very high quality components. You can almost tell by the style of box whether it’s the “good stuff” - the early red boxes with the stylized lion (?), then the plainer box, and then the green boxes. To me, green became a red flag!
