So, anyone know this car? There is a story. (of course) There is near us a retreat center (Crieff Hills Community) that is connected to the Presbyterian Church of which I am a part. The land for said retreat centre was donated by John MacLean who founded a media empire (The Canadian version of Time magazine (sort of) is MacLeans magazine). He was born in Crieff Ontario (the accompanying community) where his father was minister. I was on the website of Knox Crieff - the church and they had this pic. Clearly a chauffeur, any thoughts as to the car?

Oh and, fun fact, when MacLean died and left the land to the Presbyterian Church in Canada, Crieff Church was so certain that it should have been left to them that they to the denomination to court - and lost.

I'll take a stab at it - a 1912 Packard 6 touring car (based on shapes of doors, frame of soft top, tall radiator ornament, etc.)

Wheels and headlamps could be ordered to taste, so I'm not using wire vs wood spokes or headlamp size as criteria.

Looking at my book on vintage cars. Rolls Royce A close look at hood ornament and yes wire wheels latter than 1914

"Spirit of Ecstasy" on he radiator, wire wheels. The coachworks could vary, as Rolls would sell a running chassis and customers would specify coach requirements. We had a client with a pre-1914, wood spokes. Never figured out the coachbuilder, there was no I.D. plate. The thing was upholstered on the exterior with BLUE leather, attached with brass tacks. Weird!

RR it is!

"upholstered on the exterior with BLUE leather, attached with brass tacks. "

there's no accounting for taste ...

This is a 1921 RR boat tail I had a ride in a Silver Ghost all copper body only three known Called a summer body this car is now at the Reno Auto Museum on loan. Frank the owner and driver past away a number of years. This pic was taken more than 25 years ago. At the time this car was valued at $ 13,000,000.00. The pic was in my driveway I told Frank Hey you dripped oil on my driveway ( about the size of a silver dollar ) With a smile he said Andy that the most expensive oil drip you will ever see.
The door you see is the only door on the car you climb over the seat backs to the rear seats or use the one side step. MF

thanks all! In related news, this car 'Ladybird' is in the collection of the Canadian Automotive Museum. My goddaughter's grandfather arranged the donation of this car to the museum. (the car belonged to Lady Eaton, wife of Timothy Eaton founder of one of Canada's important department store chains - now defunct but we still have an Eaton's Centre in Toronto and a Timothy Eaton Memorial Church. At any rate when my Goddaughter's parents got married, Mrs JP was maid of honour and got to ride in it. The car actually broke down so she (Mrs JP) waited with it while the others in the bridal party carried on in the Durant.
