Rube Goldberg was Dutch?

Click on the link and wait a few moments. Pretty good advertising, and not a bad computer geek at the helm:

 That was a really, really good one!

The lamp/magnifying glass reminded me of true story of long-ago ex-husband.

Sorry to dump on him again but he was a very vane man and always carried a mirror in his car with a brush so that he could freshen up at will. Well it seems that he left the magnifying side exposed and had put his freshen-up kit in the back of his new Pinto. Ergo: the sun was shining, got the back window and his car was parked in the driveway by the kitchen window. I began to wash dishes and noticed that there was something like smoke coming from the windows of his car. I told him what I thought I was seeing, he replied I was just stupid but to shut me up he would go look. He did!

You guessed it, the sun hitting the magnifying glass was shining on the mirror which then reflected to the headliner - headliner almost all gone - enough to necessitate a trip to the auto upholsterer.

Vanity sometimes leads to $$$'s. So much for women being vane.

We had one our fire dept.Captain's wife
call the fire dept.because of smoke in her car.
They figured out that the crystal hanging from
the rear view mirror had burned a hole in the dash.
