Who drove an LBC today?

Aloha Mickey,

Is the TR8's cooling system able to keep up with those temperatures. If it isn't over heating now, seems that is one thing you won't need to concern yourself with.

Hey, Dave -

Didn't drive it very far during the heat. However, I've a switch hard-wired to the cooling fans, and it seems to be OK at this point. Nevertheless, these cars weren't designed for this kind of heat, and since it's close to 30 years old, I don't drive it much in this kind of weather.

I'm in the TR8 today - even though it's gonna be above 100... AGAIN!!

Two days ago, the weather dude said that there have been 14 days in August that topped 100 degrees. Highest here in Clarksville was last Thursday - 107! Add two more days to that total. Previous record was seven days!

This was a big part of my reason for leaving Louisiana for the more "temperate" Tennessee a while back!

SEND RAIN!!!
I left Louisiana for Ohio; a little too temperate from December through March...

But I DID DRIVE my Healey today!

Where were you in LA?

The year we moved, I think winter came on a Tuesday... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

1981-82 New Orleans; 82-85 Lafayette and 1986-2000 Breaux Bridge (Poche Bridge, specifically).

I tell people up here that Louisiana gets about five (5) nights a year @ 32 degrees. Of course, it's nearly 50 degrees the next day.

My local Triumph club's picnic was yesterday. It must have been 104 outside! But I took my 6 to the picnic anyway... (what was I thinking?) I ended up with some sunburn on my face and scalp from the ride. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Eh... even with 104 degree, it's still fun to drive the 'Lil 6!

took the 6 out for a quick ride till it started to drizzle here, I really didnt want to put the top up so I ended up coming home DRAT!

Driven the Europa every day this week - an twice on Sunday! A new record (for me anyway).

Only had the car a couple of months now, and the more I drive it, the better it runs. Had a few flat spots and would cough annd splutter a bit on take-off when I first got it. Tinkered a bit on it - sync-ing the carbs, clean up the plugs, but basically just been driving it (with the occasional "italian tune-up"). And it loves it. Perhaps its just been sitting too long before, and a good flush-through with new petrol, and a limbering up is all it needed.

Lots of smiles to the mile so far!

Rob.

drove ol Yeller out to a party tonight. Parked next to a Saturn SKY (sp)? Same yellow and black. Told them to be very sure that they didn't get into the wrong car. I'm very happy with my 71 Spit. Wouldn't trade for any thing newer. Well...................... maybe a BMerrrrrrrrrrrr. :p

Drove mine to work today. This is my first day back from vacation since I now (finally) have my new top installed. It's like a different car with the top. Beats having to worry about it sitting in a Florida rain storm!

The wife drove it to dinner last night. It was a little scary watching it drive away with out me!

I hope that was a round trip and didn't involve a tow truck! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I did yesterday. Went to the Shaker Square British Car show Sunday with my TR250. Lots of cars and fun. Took an unknown route on the way home. Glad i did. Just filled up with 94 octane gas. Hard to get around here. Then a surprising twisty up and down ride through some small hills. Rare around here too. Car performed flawlessly!
