Who drove an LBC today?

Earlier it looked like we might go for a ride and then hard thunder storm went through.

My wife was going to make a bank deposit and decided to go later because it was starting to rain. We found out later that very shortly after she went past the bank the storm hit and three people were electrocuted right in front of the building.

I think we will not go for a ride tonight.

An XJS convertible doesn't seem to fit the image of an LBC, but as my GT6 is up on blocks getting a rebuilt front suspension, it was the best I could do.

If you're driving an LBC, it's hard not to grin.

shocking!

No kidding! The lightning hit a power pole and it came down bringing the power lines with it. A mother and her child were waiting for the bus and were killed. Also a guy that jumped from the bus to try and help them. The bus driver and a kid were also injured by the electricity when they got close.

My wife would have been there if she had stopped at the bank instead of deciding to wait until later.

Huh, I kind of feel strange saying "I drove my TR-250" after that one!

But here goes! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I drove the 250 today. Overcast again today, about 75 degrees, car running really well and really fast. It's funny to drive the 250 right after the Tiger. The Tiger is all brute force, and a blast to drive. But the 250 is just *so* nimble. Where the Tiger will break it's tail end out in an aggressive turn, the 250 just carves it up. Such a delight.

Most random part of the drive: I'm zipping along Connecticut Avenue in DC heading north, and I look in my rear view mirror, and there's a LONDON TAXI behind me. I'd actually seen it at a local repair shop a few times. I wish I had had my camera with me.

Hopefully I'll have the chance to fix the C's coolant leak this weekend, and finally spend some time behind her wheel.

Drove my GT6 today. Just made it home before huge storms rolled in... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

DOes it count if I sat in it as they pushed it from where they striped it to where they prep it for paint?

I'm in the TR8 today - even though it's gonna be above 100... AGAIN!!

Hey, 75 degrees here AGAIN!!! Took the TR3 down to the next village to work on my Triumph Herald, which I keep in a lock up garage. Four people stopped by to see what I was up to and they were all more interested in the Herald than the TR!

I drove the Lotus today. Does that count? It's little, it's British, and it's a car. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I have the TR6 today, Its beautiful out & I'm stuck in the office till 4pm....

Two days ago, the weather dude said that there have been 14 days in August that topped 100 degrees. Highest here in Clarksville was last Thursday - 107! Add two more days to that total. Previous record was seven days!

This was a big part of my reason for leaving Louisiana for the more "temperate" Tennessee a while back!

SEND RAIN!!!

Aloha Mickey,

Is the TR8's cooling system able to keep up with those temperatures. If it isn't over heating now, seems that is one thing you won't need to concern yourself with.

I left Louisiana for Ohio; a little too temperate from December through March...

But I DID DRIVE my Healey today!
