Spitfire Whitworth on a Spitfire 1500?

Hi, All:

Does anyone happen to know if there are any Whitworth/BS fasteners on a Spitfire 1500 (1976), or are they all just SAE or metric?

Many thanks in advance!

Bo

Seems like I have encountered some funky sized fittings on SU carbs in the past. Can't say they were on a 1500 Spit though.

The only spot I can think of would be the carb.

The SU fasteners will be BA threads. Odd yes, Whitworth no.

But they are (or were) British Standard.

BA = British Association

BSF, BSP, and BSW = British Standard Fine, Pipe and Whitworth.

Thanks for the insights, everyone. And thanks for the welcome, tdskip. I got to thinking about Whitworth sized tools because I'm very close to buying a series Land Rover project. I'd read quite a bit about Whitworths related to the Landy, but it turns out they were largely gone by the time the Series III came about (which is what I'm getting). That, then, got me thinking about my Spit.

Given the absence, or limited number, of Whitworth fittings, I think I'll just save my money for parts or more SAE/Metric tools

Thanks again, everyone!
