TR2/3/3A Whitworth fill plug for lever shocks

Greetings,
What is the best solution for removing and replacing the filler plug on the lever shocks on a TR3?
Maybe 6-sided 9/16 socket or has someone found a closer fit that won't eventually destroy the plug.
Thanks,

I'll confess... I never realized it was Whitworth. I suppose I used whatever looked right & fit, anyway never had a problem. I don't wail on it to tighten, just snug it up.

What you need is a 1/4" BSW (Whitworth) socket. Your corner hardware store won't have it, but they can be found.

Here's a modest set on Amazon for under $30:

PS, if that size seems silly, it's because Whitworth sockets are sized by the diameter of the bolt, rather than the head. 1/4 BSW is also 5/16 BSF because BSF bolts have a smaller head (relative to thread size) than BSW.
