whiteish fluffy stuff

I have it on good authority that the notoriously leaky "Archimedes'Screw", or oil slinger at the rear of the crank was specifically designed to remedy this situation....
 
As is typical of the 3000 the bottom of the oil pan has been "reconfigured". I'm not sure how much oil to use so I go by the dip stick. Thank you. I had not thought of too much oil.
