White top

What do you guys think a white spitfire would look like with a white soft top?????

You have 6 hrs from now to voice your thoughts as the auction will be over soon after.

The time now: 6:41 a.m. Pacific time.

Thanks Zer

Probably ok. But if you later decided you didn't like it, it's not a major expense to change it. My White Spit has a White hardtop and that looks pretty good!

Basil

One concern would be the shades of white involved. Unlike Basil's hardtop (which I assume is painted to match the body) there are many shades of white, some of which may clash or make the adjacent white look yellowish.

I know TR4s often came with white tops on bodies of contrasting colors, e.g. my TR4 still had the original white top when I got it. Which brings up the second concern -- white tops may not age as well as the black. Even if kept clean they get a funk to them -- with some effort the vinyl of an old black top can be made to look almost good as new. Just my $.02 worth.

Well I got it. It is new in the box. Not NOS, it is one of the origial tops. I ended up paying $182.50 U.S. I think not such a bad deal. My black top is still in good shape. It needs new windows so I will pull that off and get the widows changes and the I can go black or white. Thanks for all the input all. Zer
