Hey all,
I know, what does "whirling noise" mean ? Just replaced my fan belt and now have a new noise - best way to describe it as a "whirling noise" which seems to be coming from the generator. I tightened the belt so that it has about 1 inch deflection which is about what the old belt had. I adjusted it again today as before believe it was a little loose as occasionally would get the belt squeal. Now, do I have it too tight ? Sounds just like an electrical motor as the noise increase with rpms. Also I did use a cogged belt this time as had one on hand versus a regular non cogged belt. Could that have something to do with it? Never had this noise until I replaced the belt and also never had a charging problem, just an old belt that was fraying. Thanks for any advice !
Regards,
Mike
