onna Holden innernet site I decided I would enter a Lucas part number for the window lift switches in the Elan... remembered I had a new one in th' "Big Red Snap-On Refrigerator" beside me, find it and find a reference number... low and BEHOLD! I've got a brandie-new headlamp toggle switch (MG or Lotus), rheostat switch (MGB panel lights), vacuum switch (Elan headlamps), three wiper/heater ones... and a BUNCH of good used ones! The Mother Lode of Lucas switches!!! I forgot I had all this "stuff"!

WOOHOO!!!

...it's better'n jaybird's shoe shopping acquisitions!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You Lucas switch hording jerk! Share the wealth! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Repros just aren't as good as the originals. Not even close.

That rheostat is likely the "jewel" of the lot, too.

That's a pretty bold statement there Doc, man enough to back it up?

SWITCHES!!!

*s'all I gotta say.*

Not just switches, LUCAS switches! That's like the difference between a high-dollar pair of shoes and the cheap immitations they sell on the streets of Manhatten for $3.95.

Oooh, Lucas switches. Like that shoebox fullobits I have in the garage?

If you have a shoebox full of NEW LUCAS switches, then you're rich and don't even know it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Did I hear someone say ebay?
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Prolly 20 switches out in that box. All sorts of stuff. Mostly used, prolly trash.

Don't throw them away. You're better off rebuilding originals than buying the kee-rap offered new. Wish I learned that lesson years ago before I threw away a bunch of original 60's switches.

Well... I cleared out a few parts departments and acquired NOS *anything* there was... I got *GLITTER HEELS*!!!!!!!!

Whoa Steve, those come in your size?
