Which indicator lights to use?

I'm converting from RB to CB on my '79 Midget and was wondering what type of indicator/trafficator/blinker lights to use to fill the very large hole sitting in the front of the guard.
I've heard that a chrome bumper MGB set will fit nicely, or do I go for an earlier model Midget set and fill the hole with metal?
I know I can buy an earlier set of guards, but cost becomes a problem going down that path. As well as hard to find.

I've seen some use the beehive bulbs from the bugeyes, but then you have to fill the hole with metal.

I like the idea of the beehive lights. What would work is to make two metal plates about 1" larger than the holes. Drill 4 or 6 mounting holes around the plate and into the fender. Paint the plates the same color as the fender. Bolt the plate onto the fender and use a hole saw to cut the beehives into the plate once it is on the car. If done carefully it will look very good. Just have to fit the plate and finish the plate with care. Might take a few hours and the use of some good metal shears and a good file.

I love the beehives - IMHO they look more right than the rectangular lights - and if you're making the conversion, do it the way you want it.

I quite like the beehives myself, but I'm thinking that for a '79 car here in Australia you have to have both Amber and Clear lights on the front of the car. One for the indicator and the other for running lights.
I'll keep searching around and see if I can find a car with either MGB or earlier Spridget rectangular lights incorporating both colours to see how they fit.
