Ed, I confess that I belong to both as well. The best thing for me is receiving two great Healey magazines rather than one. It's amazing how much there is to see, read, learn and enjoy about the marque that we all hold dear. Go for it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

In addition to joining both, the Austin-Healey Club of America has two very active chapters there in North Carolina. I don't know where in NC you live, but their chapters are centered in Charlotte and Winston-Salem, although obviously their members are spread out across the state. Most people find local club membership to be a tremendous advantage in terms of knowledge about local resources and shops and such; being able to attend tech sessions; touring with other Healey owners; being able to tap local knowledgeable, experienced owners, etc., etc. And, although most people do not join a local chapter to make friends, they usually do anyway! Many, many great friendships develop from ownership of these cars. There's no substitute for the people whom you'll meet, benefit from, and enjoy in a local chapter.

Ok,

I get the message from everyone, loud and clear.

Thank you all,

Ed

I belong to both clubs, too, and agree whith what has been said. I've always wondered, though, why there are two. It seems that if everyone joins both anyway, they should combine and probably end up with an even stronger organization than now exists.

As you can see here, AHCUSA began as a western club & expanded from there.

AHCA has a somewhat different history
https://www.serve.com/AHCA/history.htm
It has affiliated clubs in many regions.

Obviously, both clubs have strengths & weaknesses. I doubt if the two will ever merge & really wonder if either club would be as effective merged, as they are separately.

Larger organizations sometimes get so overloaded with management tasks, officers, & delegates, (administrative overhead) that they become too busy to pay much attention to individual members.

As Skip said, maybe better as separate clubs.
