I was out there when Obama took his oath. Not in DC but in the back row here in Wisconsin. I walked out the front door and turned to the east. Yes I was far away, and yes I could not see anything, but neither could most that were in DC. Just wanted to do something that I would remember.
 
I was in the garage all morning & in the bodyshop all afternoon.

I would have liked to watch the goings on, but I had to work far away from a computer or TV, since I'm up here in Canada and it is a work day after all...

So I guess I don't have a good answer for when people ask me <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">Where I was</span></span>

A rather pathetic answer for what is a rather historic event... Oh well...

I was working to earn a living, so that my share of taxes can be paid for the next three days of celebrations. One hundred and seventy million dollars. It kind of looks better when spelled out, than in nine little digits.
 
I spent most of the day in my home office, but I watched the inauguration on my little flat screen. I recorded the entire event on the DVR and I intend to edit and burn DVD’s for the kids/grandkids. I want the grandchildren to see today’s history being made as I saw it.

I did DVR it too and my wife and I watched it during dinner. That's a LOT of people in the mall.
 
That parade ran for over four hours. Waaaaay too long for me.

Beside ... I was working at the museum. And quietly praying that no great disaster would hit those millions of people gathered at the Mall.

Saw bits of the inauguration on the news. Couldn't believe that Chief Justice Roberts got the words to the oath mixed up!

Set the valve clearances on an Alfa engine. What a lot of fun. Micrometer, feeler gauge, shims, math, cam in cam out cam in cam out, order shims.
 
I was working at the pharmacy....had the radio tuned in all day.

The "Lawn Rangers" from Arcola, IL participated in the parade.
 
Watching on TV and full of hope for our future.
 
In a cost saving measure, I slept until after 11 am so as to not wake up so early that I felt I needed to eat breakfast. Skip directly to lunch this way, eliminate having to buy food for that pesky third meal. It sounds like I'm kidding, but I'm not.
