Where to Move?

Our #2 Son is in Chattanooga.Our #1 (First born)is in
Suffolk,Virginia.
My point was that we can move almost anywhere.We are
taking care of our 4-1/2 year old Granddaughter,but if things
work out,we could move almost anywhere.
How did we ever get here?But,as my wonderful Wife says -
"We're here - where do we go from here?"You people who haven't
had to deal with problems with your kids are very fortunate,
you don't have to deal with these kind of decisions - consider
youselves very fortunate.

Well, Doug, since a kid is in VA, you need to move to the "Old Dominion"!!!
The Tidewater area around Suffolk is a bit busy/crazy, but there are good spots around there and the cost of living is great. Charlottesville, for example, has been rated the number one place in the USA by "Cities Ranked & Rated" and other indices: very low crime; good medical care; good cost of living; little or no traffic snarls; major university with tons of cultural activities,etc., the whole shebang. What's more, Thomas Jefferson <span style="font-style: italic">still lives here</span>
(at least it seems that way sometimes)!
I'll also add that the January, 2010 issue of "Car and Driver" lists Charlottesville as one of the nation's top ten areas for drivers/driving! Perfect, twisty, scenic country roads everywhere, with the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive 25 minutes east of here.
Anyway, good luck with your search. Tough decision, but I'm sure you'll be happy wherever you go. :thumbsup:

Soth MS is REALLY cheap !!!! Lots for your $$$. You wouldn't believe what we paid for our 2 year old house on 4 landscaped acres. Thats's why we moved here. SUPER LOW crime rate. There was ONE murder on the coast last week. It was a BIG suprise. You never here anything about that here. Nice folks and some REALLY dumb ones too. Not a bad place if you can get past the culture change.

Central Arkansas was just ranked #2 in the country as the best bang for your buck on real estate. If you don't have to worry about an education for your kids you might consider it.
We also have an awesome Local British Car guy who is awesome helpful for those who want to work on their own or just "pay someone to do it"
Weather is tolerable...it gets a little hot in August (100 sometimes) and a little cold in December(30-40) but there are four distinct seasons with Fall and Spring being some of the best driving weather in the U.S.!!!
Nice people, relatively low crime (particularly outside the metro area), decent shopping, hospitals, etc.
We would love to show you around if you are interested!!!

Why thank you! :wink: I did not mean for the previous comment to be as derogatory as it sounded towards the wonderful teachers we have in our schools....many who make me feel inadequate. I simply meant that overall as a state...sometimes education is not too high on our political map in terms of funding and facilities.
Considering the resources, industry, climate, housing and people....if we could just up the number of high school and college graduates to at least 10%...we would really have utopia. LOL!!!
