Where to mount fender mirrors on BT7

My BN-6 service parts list (AKD855 Third Edition) shows the the wing mirror as an optional extra and mounted over the wheel well.

Interesting. I am certain that I must have seen that in the past (I have copies of pretty much all factory Workshop Manuals, Service Manuals, and Parts Lists), but certainly did not remember it.

It appears that it may apply only to RHD cars, and shows just one mirror, on the driver's (right hand, in this case) side, far out on the wing. <span style="font-weight: bold">In fact, that appears to be further forward than I think I've ever seen a mirror actually mounted.</span>

My thinking is that's shown for clarity, lest it appear to be part of the windscreen assembly.

As the quantity has already been noted, I will only go on to say that my mirrors (as installed by late Ray Caivano) could be fitted to either side of the car, depending on the orientation of the mirror to the stem. See the links I posted above for a lack of rh/lh in the ordering descriptions.

Hey y'all,
This is why I love the British Car Forum - all this great info just about
mirrors. Like those ones from Denis Welch but can imagine they are not cheap !
Guess I'm going to have to get that drill out no matter which ones I finally
decide on - now going back and forth on the bullet versus the lucas style.
The thought of taking a drill bit to my beautiful Healey blue paint brings up
images of it skipping down the fender despite my best efforts to hold it.
I'll be sure to drill a nice pilot hole before I bring out the big bit so I
don't make that very mistake !

One thing that helps protect the paint... Put a layer of blue painter's tape over the area you're going to drill.

Then, as you said, pilot hole first, bigger hole second.

More than one person has said that the wing mirrors were not installed at the factory ??
My heritage certificate under bullet number 11 ( details of factory fitted equipment ) lists " wing mirror " in with the other items. My car is a 65 and it originally had just one mirror on the drivers side ( LHD car ). It is mounted on the wing about 10 1/2 inches behind " right above the center of the knock offs ".
... It wasn't good for much UNTIL I replaced it with a convex mirror of the same design. I liked it so much that I ordered one for the passenger side of the car. I drilled a hole in the same location of the passenger side wing to accommodate it.
With these mirrors I can see into the big " blind spot " that is created on the passenger side of the car when the bonnet is up.

I wasn't trying to be funny but you are right, I did use the wrong LBC term " bonnet " when I meant hood or convertible top. I don't read/write English English so well !

... I first put a license plate back on it in the last week of October. We do have a winter like season here so it was very "brisk" outside when I was first driving the car. I had the top up and thus was very nervous making lane changes to the right when I couldn't see into the big blind spot on the right side of the car. The convex mirrors solved that problem...

I am asking because everyone else has said that the factory NEVER installed the wing mirrors , yet it is listed on my heritage certificate ?
