Where to mount a fire extinguisher

After seeing a car recently that looked like an uncoordinated person had tried snorting coke in it I can say that mounted on a spring-clip bracket underneath the parcel shelf is not a good place for a fire extinguisher if you plan on going over any bumps.

I'd also add a vote for not having a dry powder extinguisher- the mess they make is only slightly less than the mess a fire makes.

Andy.

Extinguishers for automotive/RV/boat use come with a mounting bracket with a strap around the extinguisher with a quick release catch. I used a couple of hose clamps to attach the bracket to the roll bar. Alternatively, the bracket can be attached with a couple of screws./

I agree, Boat extinguisher have the correct capacity, and the correct system to be fastened to the Main floor panel, Plastic base with spring -clip+hard nylon strap, must be resistant at dark and storming days, were the boat movement have much dynamic force than on vehicles, and you easy can find the better choice of Extinguisher at flat price, respect to the automotive market
