Never watched it. My buddy supplied them with all of their cars though. He's supposed to buy my old race car Friday, we'll see. (He was also supposed to hook me up with repairing movie cars but that never happened so....)

I was in the Jazz funeral for the Aints paper bag through Treme. That was a a really cool experience. Right in the middle of it Lenny Kravitz came in from a side street and was matching right next to me. I think it was for a Spike Lee Katrina recovery thing. I never saw that either so I don't know if I'm in it or not. If I am, I'm the guy with a shirt on a stick.
 
I'd go to Northern California - up here we don't have the
crowds.In many places,you might the only ones on the beach.
We have a very scenic coastline,& Redwood trees,with
no fences at most of the groves.In many places,you can park,& just
walk into the trees.

I'm from here too and you NEVER get use to it. That being said, stop by the her new studio on your way in and say hi if you come this way.

Borneo is stupid hot and humid pretty much all year as its slap bang on the equator.
 
We were in Hawaii last year.

And later in the year we went to Riviera Maya in Mexico. (both trips were for destination weddings).

Hawaii was great but to be honest, we liked Mexico better.

We're heading for Colorado next week. I feel I have not seen enough of the American West. If I have more time this year I'd love to go out to Bryce Canyon and some of the other national parks out west. Eventually......

But I also have to mention the eastern US. For one thing, we talk normal and don't have those weird accents. :friendly_wink:

This year, all within driving distance from our place in NJ, we will be (or have already been to), Philadelphia, Boston, NYC, Mystic Seaport, Baltimore, Ogunquit (Maine), Washington, DC, Long Beach Island (NJ), plus three wineries (so far) and a South Jersey glass works. These are all pretty easy drives from Newark Airport and there are tons of things to see at these places. A personal fav is Cape May (NJ) with close proximity to Washington DC and Philly.
There's also at least six sports car circuits (including Watkins Glen and Lime Rock) within a few hours drive.

Ever since I hear Kinky Friedman's Wildman From Borneo I've thought about going there. So many places.....so little time. :smile-new:
 
We were in Riviera Maya last year and had a great time (apart from her indoors having a bad case of Motezuma's revenge for the last few days). Playing miniature golf with a large iguana as a mobile obstacle was a hoot!

PS. Sorry but you all have weird accents and drive on the wrong side of the road, and as for your spelling, don't get me started on the spelling.... :friendly_wink::devilgrin:

Yeah, we made friends with the iguanas too.

I will admit when pronouncing "1/2" it sounds better as "hawf" rather than "hahhhh-f".

And "colour" still looks better than "color" to me.

....and, I own two right-hand drive cars.

But I don't have an accent. Everybody else does. :angel2:

About 30 years ago drove from around the Yucatan from Cancun ( Isla Mu Hares, Hotel Margarita $4 a night ) to Merida, Uxmal and the hotel built for Harvard team that restored the site were both spectacular. Then Playa del Carmen where we spent a few nights in hammocks on the beach for .75 cents a night. Our rental car was a rusted out Rambler, airfare was more than I spent the 3 weeks we were there.

PS. Sorry but a British company bought the one I worked for and tanked it. I don't think your accents are so cute anymore. And we drive on the right side. :devilgrin:
 
Don't let anyone dissuade you from visiting the Southern US. We just do things a bit slower down here than everywhere else. If your in to driving I would suggest the Natchez Trace. You can pick it up in Nashville, after listening to a little country music, and drive to Natchez MS which is a hop, skip, and a jump from New Orleans. Very peaceful and scenic. Don't worry about the accent, everybody says we "talk funny" down here too. :friendly_wink:
 
If you go to Birmingham Alabama, don't miss Talladega nor the Barber Museum close by. Well worth a visit.
 
I like the west-central Florida summers jus' fine. Would like to see automatic transmissions and air conditioning outlawed. That'd thin the herd!

We have the Withlacoochee River, the Suwannee River, Crystal Springs further inland, LOTS of 'nature' to play in and on. Just stock up on mosquito repellant when ya get off the 'plane. :smirk:
 
Just to throw an additional idea into the ring... Western Pennsylvania is a nice place. White water rafting (Ohiopyle, PA), Wineries (lots), trains (both modern and several excursions), British car show in late July (Armagh), Vintage Grand Prix in mid July (Pittsburgh), Not as hot and humid as the south. All kinds of fun
 
I think you should come to the Charleston SC area. We have great beaches, old ships, cold beer, humid but beautiful weather, wonderful food choices, loads of history, polite folks who will help you understand our version of the Kings English and a lot of LBC's that drive on the "right" side of the road.

Another plus is on June 27th the Great Race has a stopover in Mount Pleasant at Patriots Point Naval Museum so you can see old ships and old cars!
