Where to Get Stromberg Carbs Rebuilt?

Hi all,
I've got a TVR 2500M with the TR-6 and dual strombergs. When I bought the car it didn't run well and the carbs needed rebuilt. I took them off and bought kits for them. I took one apart and started putting it back together, but other things kept getting in the way of finishing them. So at this point I just want the car running, and am wondering if there is some guru of stromberg carbs out there that I an send them to and get them back ready to go. I live in northeast Ohio if that matters. I know it sounds silly that I can't get these done, but I've just got too many projects going and need to get this car back on the road quickly. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

I would strongly recommend Gary Martin in S.D. Concours quality! I can get his # if you want.

I had my Zenith Strombergs rebuilt by Joe Curto in NYC a couple of years ago. He did a fantastic job and was very reasonable. This is his speality. He truly knows his stuff. You can check out his web site at https://www.joecurto.com.

Then there is TRF. Nothing in the south HMMMM?

Check out Jeff Palya at Paltech Micropolishing (www.paltech1.com). He's located in Brunswick, OH.
Jeff did a fantastic job on the Crypt Car's carbs
and intake manifold.

I was very pleased with his services, turn around time
and his follow thru.

dale.

Newbie here - What's TRF?

Oh, by the way. My first set up carbs needed throttle shaft bushings and I had them done at TRF. Excellent work and the car started right up. Minor tweaking and it ran great for the next four years until I pulled them for the triple setup above.

Curto's work is also excellent and I'm sure that Bill's guy in the South Dakota does great work as well.

Hi Jim;

"JOE CURTO" is the "BEST OF THE BEST" with SUs, Strombergs etc:

Isn't it great that we actually have a choice of three or four really great places to have this work done, for a change??

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm leaning towards Jeff Palya, because he's local to me. Hey paul, is anything else modified on your engine other than the triples? I'm wondering what added benefit the triples would proivide on a stock engine and a modded engine. Is it possible to achieve 150-160hp with dual carbs? I know it would take head work, cam and free flowing exhaust, but are triple carbs also necessary? I like the way they look, but don't really want the added expense or complexity if I can do it with my duals. If I'm going to make a change, now might be the best time to do it, which is why I'm asking.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

To get a 50% increase in HP, you will need substantial amounts of time and money to invest. I doubt that you'll be able to do it with two carbs, but if that HP is your goal, major internal work along with cam, headers, ignition and Weber's are probably in order.

I have a modified distributor, the 3 carbs are a bit rich, I have JetHot coated headers (inside and out) and very good compression with relatively low miles (54,000).

I'm not a racer, but have no problems accelerating on the highway or in the city streets.

Cinn,

I have no idea, but I guess that we'll find out! I guess it will depend on how ambitious I am. And thanks for the compliment.
