Hi

does anyone know where I can have made 60 custom forged pistons made ?

83mm , 22mm pin size,

nothing really special about them,

I have been told that the blanks come from one company,
so you are pretty much just paying for machining and the stickers on the box /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

JE wants $80 each , which seems high ( I might not talked to right guy there yet) I am thinking $30-$50 each ,

Any ideas ?

thanks

Wiseco Piston, Inc. Mentor, Ohio.

They made up a set of (V-12) Ferrari jugs for us a few years back.

Just one alternative.

I was going to say Cosworth. I think they are in Camarillo, so you could drive there. BUT, their website is down. Could they be out of business?

Well Greg, don't forget about Egg Machine here in east LosAngeles. Dont know what their prices are though.--Keoke

there are many piston makers here in SoCal,
JE-Venolia, Arias are some well known ones

but also Ross , CP , Jahns and I am sure others ,

I would rather get a smaller company so I am not paying for big name sponsorship deals etc that raise the cost.

And if I get them from a lower rent place than California then why not !

Another vote for Wiseco. I was actually able to shadow one of their engineers for a whole day. The forging process is awe-inspiring to watch. Coincidentally, he was drawing up MGB 1798cc pistons in SolidWorks.

Oh yes Jeff, I’ve been there. That’s one of their big stores. I was thinking performance parts. Thought maybe Carillo rods, but no. Wilwood brakes are in Camarillo, that was probably what I was thinking of. Anyway, back to your normal piston programming. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
