Where to eat on a drive.

Shirley and I find a good place to eat from time to time while we go on drives.
This one is in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The place is called Mulligan's. The food is very good and the prices are reasonable. Mulligan's has a nice rustic atmosphere with large timbers for effect. It is the place where those in the know stop in to eat. On a nice day you will find other car enthusiasts and the more mature bikers. We have always been seated but it can get crowded at the noon hour.
To find Mulligan's drive through town on Hwy 35. A little towards the north part of town turn towards the river at the Walgreen store. After several blocks you will find it at the end of a number of bars and eating places on the left. They have parking on the corner and behind the establishment.

Sounds great. It's only a 980 mile drive from my place. Think I can get there by dinner time??

A long time ago, I remember seeing a cookbook that was a compilation of recipes for meals cooked using heat sources in the engine bay! The idea was that for a given distance and the proper placement (heat sources) one could cook a meal while driving, thus when you got to your destination you could have a nice, hot meal!

"Manifold Destiny"... cooking on your engine.

"El Caracol" our local biker's bar/restaurant on the beach
cannot be beat.

As a matter of fact, the Crypt Car was there this morning
with our pals the Mature bikers for the the usual Sunday morning
beer and empanadillas de carne.

The younger folks swarm over Crypty and call me -
El Abuelo out of respect- Grandfather.

Took a plesant, rapid paced one hour test drive in Crypty
this morning. Nothing broke down, fell off or stopped
functioning. We arrived home home under our own power NOT
on a flatbed. I am enjoying this new, arrive home technique.
Engine running, all 4 wheels spinning.

enjoy the photos.

regards,

d

Once put a mackerel on a friends Volvo exhaust manifold and did not tell him about. The fish did not cook, but after a couple of days, you could smell him coming for miles.
