Where On Earth is Mickey?

Back to the topic - a little birdie tells me Mickey has been getting a lot of rain on his trip. Yuck! Tell it, Mickey!

Yep - just about all of our stops have ~enjoyed~ rain. Currently we're in London and it stopped raining a while ago. We did manage to go to Buckingham Palace; the queen says "Hey" to all. Saw the changing of the guard, but it was quite crowded; hard to see much of it. And the "Tube" is a wonderful public transport resource.

Hopefully, tomorrow we head to Brooklands; really looking forward to that. And then we go to the Cotswolds to visit John Macartney for a couple days.

I've taken more pictures, but when onboard the cruise ship the internet was really awful, so I didn't bother to post. And most of what I've taken here in London have been shots that most have already seen, so haven't bothered to post. Will get some shots at Brooklands and post those, if we do go. And anything else that seems worthy of posting.

On the British car front, there haven't been too many sightings of interest - too many late model compacts and SUV's; looks painfully familiar to the streets in the states, though there are some interesting variants here and there. Lots of Skodas, Vauxhalls, and Citroens. Janet has become quite taken with London taxis; good thing we don't have any more room in the garage!

Afraid we're still waiting for summer to arrive in the UK. Its been rain, rain, rain for months. Not particularly heavy, just enough to make it miserable! As I look out of the office window now the sun is shining but the weather man said more rain on its way later today!

Met Steve (catfood) and wife Helen last evening for drinks and supper. Had a great chat and it's always wonderful meeting online acquaintances in person. I believe we may have solved a few world problems in our discussions as well!

We're still in Evesham, in the Cotswolds. Gorgeous countryside! Heading to London after church with John Macartney later today. After a night in London, it's back on the plane for home. It's been a great trip, though we do wish the weather'd been a bit more agreeable. But we're looking forward to seeing the kids and getting back to routine.

Again, will try to post a few pictures when we get back.

Mickey

You've got great timing Mickey. Looks like we are heading for a week of good weather.

It was good to meet you and put the world to rights.

And thanks to you Basil for making it possible through the forum.

Yep - here's a picture of Steve ("Catfood"), Helen, Janet and me after depleting some of the bar's stock:

Very cool, Mickey. Look forward to seeing more pics.
BTW, Steve looks quite distinguished with that goatee :cool-new:

Mickey, It sure seems like you and the wife had a great time. My congratulations. Might be a little jealousy in this message, but hopefully you'll overlook that. :jester: PJ

It was a great experience, even with all the rain and wind. But we're really glad to be home!

Always good to return home... ready for one's own bed and routine (even after a terrific trip).
