Hehehe... well, Nashville will be difficult on the cruise. Still, St. Petersburg should be great.
 
Having a tough time loading pictures, but will try again here. We were in Tallin, Estonia today. Those of you who use Skype may be interested to know that it was developed there. And I'm told there's free Wi-Fi throughout the city!

On our way to St. Petersburg for two days, then on to Helsinki, and then Bruges, Belgium before heading back to England.

Had another picture I wanted to post, but the connection onboard is agonizingly slow for loading pictures. Oh well, as you can see from this one shot, the old town is very picturesque. Red roofs everywhere, and many of the buildings date back to the 13th and 14th centuries.

If you are able, try making copy on your computer and resize to about 800 wide. That might make easier to upload.
 
May try that next time. Or resize the pictures when taken.

Just got back onboard. The weather in St. Petersburg is dismal. Been raining all day today, and the temperature didn't get out of the fifties; yesterday wasn't much better. We were supposed to have a ride on a hydrofoil today, but the wind was too high. Saw the Hermitage, several palaces, more art work than imaginable, and more rude tourists than I ever expected. The crowds have been large, with lots of pushing, shoving, and cutting lines. The subway in St. Petersburg is pretty amazing. Deepest part is said to be 102 meters under the city. We went to the station that was "only" 60 meters down!

And there's no question that the sights are fantastic. Just wish the weather had been better. However, we did have borscht and stroganoff for lunch yesterday; beef and chicken pie and cherry pie today. All with the all-important shot or two of vodka!

Ship's getting ready to leave for overnight run to Helsinki. Will see about posting a couple of pictures later.
 
We're still at the dock in St. Petersburg. Captain just came on the intercom and told us that winds are gusting up to 46 mph, so we're going to wait until it calms a bit before leaving. However, forecast calls for increasing winds! Picture I took as we were boarding a few hours ago:

This one isn't the largest of their fleet; there's a new one, Harmony of the Seas, that's supposed to be the world's largest at 1188' - that's almost four football fields!

7:45am and we're still docked. Winds are still pretty high, judging from the whitecaps. Haven't heard when we're due to leave, but the captain did say last night that we won't be stopping at the last port, Bruges, Belgium, because of the delay.

More time for the casinos and restaurants!

Seriously, better to ride out the winds in port, than ride them out at a 30 degree angle, while leaning over the rails ...

Capacity of 5000 with guests and crew. A city on the sea. You have probably gotten to know them all. Is there room to bring the LBC along?
 
Not hiding, Just took some time to get life's kicks in the teeth sorted out. Starting to get back in the swing again.

I can relate to kicks in the teeth - had my share recently.

Back to the topic - a little birdie tells me Mickey has been getting a lot of rain on his trip. Yuck! Tell it, Mickey!
