TR2/3/3A Where oh Where does the other end go?

In my 1960 TR 3A how does the cable opener go on the inside of the door panel? I see where it ties into the door latch mechanism and on one picture, I found in my files, I see where it ties to a panel screw. Is that all there is to it? Just poke a hole in the door panel and there you go? Sounds too simple to me. But then I do tend to over engineer things.
A picture or two would be a great help! Of course any info you might have would be of great help to me because I did not own the car when all of these parts were dismantled!
More of a chalenge that way I suppose you could say, heh.

Thanking you in advance, I remain, Tinkerman

On my post 60k its a small hole on inner door panel, close to the main inside cutout, sort of inline with latch and upper hinge..Thread cable into hole, then add sleeve, then attach to latch mechanism.

Dick -

Are you planning on attending the Townsend show? Hope to catch up with you then.

Here's one that shows the location of the hole for the cable on the forward edge of the door.

If you're planning on building new panels and installing a new pocket, there are some excellent threads on this forum that address some of the problem areas.

Rick...

Bingo!, Found it! I knew that it should be something simple like that. I guess I thread it through the door pocket opening so it can be gotten to, eh?
Mickey it is a possibility but everything really has to fall into place real well. Your guess is as good as mine at this point if that will happen. Will let you know.
I really appreciate the info and thanks for the pic Rick!

Cheers, Dick
