Hi - I live in Oklahoma and recently purchased a 1978 MG Midget from a southern California owner. Before the car was shipped to me the owner damaged the car and the deal is now off.

I'd like to own a 1970 or newer MG Midget and my one desire is that the car have no rust and have a very nice paint job. I don't want to do any body & paint work.

Do the members of this great site have any ideas on where to look for a Midget? Does anyone know of a nice Midget for sale? My upper limit on the price is around $5000.00.

Thanks.

1. heres a good place
2.california seems to be full of midgets to me ; )
3. ebay....be very picky
id get a 70-74 or older if u want a metal bumper car....
most people prefer them........zimmmy

Personally, I would stay away from eBay personally. It seems like anything good on eBay gets bid up to a premium. MGs in our part of the world seem to go for a little less than in CA or the East Coast.

Craigslist and cars.com will allow you to search the southwest.

Re: Where is the best place to look for a MG Midge

I found my Bugeye from Auto Trader's classic car trader site. I was checking there, Craigslist, eBay, and the local paper almost daily. One will come up for you, just have to be patient and wait for that good deal.

Craig's List Seattle #177719894 has a 1978 Midget. I know nothing about it.

Re: Where is the best place to look for a MG Midge

Thanks everyone for the help. Craig's List seems to be a good place to look. I found 2 in the Dallas, Texas area and I'm waiting for pictures. I can drive down and look at them. It is very hard to buy a car long distance. Pictures, either digital or photos, always make the car look better than it is. I'll try to look at cars where I can drive (less than a day) to see them in person. Thanks again for the assistance. I appreciate it.

Re: Where is the best place to look for a MG Midge

When I located my car in California, I was able to get someone (a BCF member, actually) to go look the car over for me. Gave me much more confidence that the pictures were accurate. There are members all over the country (and world, for that matter) and folks here are always willing to help out.

Boy am I glad I didn't have to give that away for 6100 bucks. Maybe not orginial but sure looks good in the pics, ya just got to love it.
