The one day in the entire world when everybody, save WalMart, is closed and Nobody is online on the Triumph forum. What gives?

Its still early and "some" people may have been up late partying.

Up late is a good way to put it. But starting off with coffee and this forum is a good way to start into the new year. Happy New Year folks!
Dennis

Hey, Bill!
Happy New Year!
No partying last night for this old man, Basil. I don't think I made it past about 9:30!
Jeff

Happy New Year to all... I didn't make it til midnight.. getting a little to old for that...

Today I'm going to put a seat in the TR3 and see if I can get it around the block! I want to start the new year right...

Good morning Bill,

Happy New Year everyone!

Actually working in my office this morning doing a final check on some part orders I made to Fastenal this weekend and checking some things on an aluminum extrusion I need made. One of the less glamorous sides of owning a business.

Feliz Año Nuevo, buena salud, prosperidad
y buenos amigos !!

Fireworks started going off here in Bayamon at 7:30 PM.

Our brain dead island government (in their utter
stupidity) legalized fireworks for the general
public this New Years. The noise in our neighborhood
deafening and constant -did not end until after 3:00 AM

We rarely venture out into the main streets because
of all the drunk drivers. Go to local parties, give a
party or stay home.

Cleaning out the Crypt today to make room for the
Boulder Buster. Kinda sad, in a perverse way.

Happy Hogmanay one and all.
Not much happening here today. I was amazed when I took the dog out at 9 am this morning that I didn't see one sole, or hear any cars. Maybe a sad reflection on Scotland's drinking habits.
We had a very stormy night last night and the big Hogmanay party in Edinburgh was cancelled. I believe that similar parties all over south Scotland and northern England were also stopped for safety reasons. Normally about 100,000 people gather in the public park below Edinburgh Castle with live bands playing and the obligatory fireworks at midnight (after the one o'clock gun!)
Very much a grey day today both weatherwise and because I have at last come to terms with the fact that I will have to trade my Jeep Cherokee in for a boring no-frills Ford Focus. We have been wondering why we have so little money recently. Having gathered all of my bank statements together I have worked out how much I have been spending on petrol and that the Jeep has given an average of 15mpg over the last three years. With British petrol prices I just can't go on like that. I love that Jeep and I will really miss it.

Merry New Year to all. Made it up to about 9:00 last night, Whooo Hooo.
Folks coming over for BBQ Brisket and Ribs this afternoon.

Worked on the engine yesterday will work on it today. The long head stud bolt holes were filthy and corroded I've got three cleaned out and the studs in with one to go.

The original inlet valves that I bought were too small so I ordered 4 more from Moss. I was happily lapping them in with my restored Zim lapping tool and found one valve with the stem about .003 oversize, ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH

Called British Frame and Engine and ordered one Saturday.

So goes the fun of working on an old Auto. I had an old and dear friend that always told me that "Working on old cars is a very humbling experience!". Gentleman was soooo right.

Cheers, Tinkerman

Crashed afore midnight, awoke at the "usual" time (0430). Brew'd up, checked in here. It was HOLLOW soundin' then, it was so empty!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year Triumph friends. This forum helps take a little of the edge off the many "real" challenges of life.
Thanks.

Bill - Sorry, I over slept!

Happy New Year to all!

2 AM for me!. Big fire in the fireplace, watched the ball drop in times square on TV (best place), No more crazy New Year adventures here sober or otherwise. There's something to be said about the non alcohol life style - No hangovers -Other than that it's real quiet.

Stayed with it till 1:00am here. I'm too old for the head banging New Years shows, but found a good one on PBS, more geared to my taste. Wifie made a bunch of goodies and we popped the top on the bottle of bubbles and we just enjoyed each others company. 47 great New Years together.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year...

The new year broke warm (40F) and sunny this morning. A truly beautiful January day.

I'm going to my storage building today to look for some things I have selling on ebay right now. I moved into a new building last fall and my "help" didn't think that putting two identical items on the same shelf made any sense. So now I have to root around for some brake drums and misc. stuff.

I also have to remove the door wood on TS1203LO's left door. I found a local shop that does world class repairs on Chrysler Town and Country woodies and the owner is going to make replacement door wood for me.

I'll snap a pic or two tomorrow when I'm over there...it's a pretty amazing place. Dennis builds entire new woodie bodies for these BIG cars...and he LIVES in the shop! He and his wife don't even have a door between their living quarters and the shop...spotlessly clean!

Now I'm off to do some work...

Happy New Year everyone!

Part of today is to be dedicated to the removal of my windscreen frame. Hopefully... Not much luck over the past couple of days with all the various methods mentioned on this forum and elsewhere, but here's hoping it'll finally come...

Cheers,
Mark

Mark, the only method that is sure-fire is to unbolt the large clamping bracket dumaflatchie from the body, get a good grip on it with some large ViceGrips, and start a-wiggling back and forth. Eventually the dumaflatchie will give up its grip on your window frame post and you can slide it out. You might gnarl the bracket a bit but the concours judges never tend to look under the dashboard, at least not that far.

Doing my estimated taxes. Contemplating take a dependant deduction for my six. Why not? It is just like a kid, takes all my money while giving me comfort and angst. Never leaves home. Soils the floor. Coughs and chokes, passes gas, and is a frequent source of disagreement with the wife.

If I am lucky I can get away with it provided the IRS auditor is also a LBC owner.

Happy New Year
Ray

Bill,

Thats the route I'm going to take. Do you grip the bracket from below (with vicegrips up at a 45 deg angle and gripping the outer part of the bracket) or from the side, gripping the lower circular part that the frame post feeds into? I can only see it being the circular bit, but it's best to ask!

Cheers,
Mark
